RxConnect™
Connecting people with the prescription drugs they need!
The Minnesota Board on Aging believes that all consumers should
have access to affordable prescription drugs to ensure their
quality of life. The new RxConnect™ program will provide the
information and assistance needed to make informed decisions
regarding affordable prescription drugs.
A toll-free call to the Senior LinkAge Line®
at 1-800-333-2433 is all that is needed to get you connected to
the help you need.
The
Service
RxConnect™ is a state sponsored, objective,
neutral service managed by the Minnesota Board on Aging's Senior
LinkAge Line®. Even though the Senior LinkAge Line® staff answer
the phones, the service isn't limited to people who are seniors.
Staff are trained and certified as Health Insurance Counselors and
have a special expertise in helping people with prescription drug
costs.
People of all ages who need assistance in finding help with
their prescription drug costs can call RxConnect™. The staff will
discuss all pharmaceutical options with callers, which may
include:
-
using web sites to compare various prices
-
mail order
-
understanding benefits available through a
health plan or Medicare supplement plan or HMO
-
enrolling in publicly funded programs
-
negotiating with a local pharmacist
-
getting help from the drug companies
-
Medicare Prescription Drug coverage
-
a prescription savings discount card offered by
a private provider.
Depending on the options available,
appropriate and chosen by the caller, RxConnect™ can help complete
the paperwork and prepare the information for mailing. Help is
available on a one-to-one basis, over the phone or in person.
