Help With Prescription Drug Costs

There are programs and services available to help you reduce your prescription drug costs.  Below is a summary of the options and links to more information.  Need help? Call the Senior LinkAge Line® at 1-800-333-2433.

Senior LinkAge Line®:

  • Statewide information and assistance service of the Minnesota Board on Aging.
  • Medicare State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) for Minnesota and assists Medicare beneficiaries of all ages with getting the prescription drugs they need to live healthier lives.
  • Will help review and enroll you in a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (Medicare Part D)
  • Get connected to specialists who can provide you with personalized help to reduce your prescription drug costs.
  • Does not sell, market, promote or endorse any specific products. Our goal is to provide you with unbiased, comprehensive help so you can make good decisions about your health and well being.

RxConnect™

  • Statewide prescription drug expense assistance service available to Minnesotans of all ages

  • Service of the Senior LinkAge Line® at 1-800-333-2433

  • Helps you find and apply directly for programs and services that may reduce your prescription drug expenses.

Medicare Prescription Drug Program (Medicare Part D)

  • Provides information about accessing lower cost prescription medications from Canada.
  • Includes the Minnesota RxPrice Compare which allows you to compare local pharmacy prices of 400 of the most prescribed medications. You can search by city, county or zip code.

  • Website of the Consumers Union, the non-profit publisher of Consumer Reports that provides information about effectiveness, safety and cost of medicines.
