The Proposal Selection Committee is comprised of individuals from the Continuing Care Administration of DHS with significant experience in specific topical areas. Committee members are assigned a strategy, and they conduct a rigorous review all proposals for that strategy. Recommendations from each strategy group are coordinated by Odyssey staff to ensure variety and balance.
Many more proposals are submitted than can be selected. Proposals are chosen on the basis of the information submitted. Submitters are expected to follow the instructions carefully and supply all requested information. Missing or incorrect information could make the proposal ineligible for consideration.
The proposed session must clearly apply to the target audience and fit into one of the four strategies. We seek presenters with substantial topical knowledge and solid experience in training, facilitating or speaking to medium- to large-sized groups.
Proposals are evaluated using the following additional criteria:
To achieve a balanced conference program, Odyssey staff will determine the days and times that sessions are scheduled. Some speakers may be asked to repeat sessions that are considered especially relevant or popular, and others to combine sessions that are considered duplicative.
Odyssey staff will notify all speakers of the status of their proposals via e-mail by April 30, 2008.
