Medicare Fraud Alert - New Twist

Nationwide reports are coming in from Medicare beneficiaries stating they received a call from someone saying they work for Medicare. The caller says the beneficiary needs to re-apply for Medicare or they will lose their benefits beginning January 1, 2017.

The caller then asks for their Medicare number, date of birth and other contact information.

Remember, Medicare representatives do not call beneficiaries.
