Groups, individuals honored with awards at Age
Odyssey conference
The Minnesota Department of Human Services and
the Minnesota Board on Aging recently recognized the work of individuals and
groups who are making a difference for older adults in their communities. At the
Age Odyssey conference in St. Cloud in August, those dedicated to improving the
lives of seniors received awards for their innovative work in offering long-term
care consultation for seniors and their families, enhancing consumer choice,
increasing community capacity, providing culturally-sensitive support systems,
supporting informal caregivers and volunteers and developing innovations in
quality.
This year’s award winners include:
• Angel Care Center, Cannon Falls.
• Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging and its
director, Catherine Sampson, Duluth.
• Judy Berry, Lakeview Ranch, Meeker
County.
• City of Richfield.
• Elder Network in Dodge, Fillmore,
Goodhue, Olmsted, Wabasha and Winona counties.
• Northwest Regional Development
Commission and Northwest Area Agency on Aging in Kittson, Marshall, Mahnomen,
Pennington, Red Lake and Roseau counties.
• Scott County.
• Pearl Seery, Big Stone County.
• Swift County.
• Wing Span of St. Paul.
